Our Story

since 1974

Beginning with leading French outdoor brand Grosfillex, our product range has since expanded to include extensive collections of indoor and outdoor designer brands from Europe. 2016 marks the 20-year-anniversary of our own Classique Outdoor range, first developed by founder Tom Bihari.

1974
- Classique founded as Australian distributor for France’s Grosfillex
1982
- Classique commences manufacturing in Sydney, monobloc resin chairs and tables with Grosfillex moulds; as part of their contract market range.
1994
- Classique moves its warehouse logistics and office space to Somersby NSW.
1996
- Classique founder Tom Bihari launches the Classique Outdoor range, with his own design concepts in cooperation with designer / engineer Manfred Gam.
- Tom patents and design registers unique concepts from this new brand.
2002
- Classique National Headquarters moves into the first of 2x purpose built facilities at Ainslie Close, Somersby.
2006
- Classique is a recipient of Austrade’s Export Market Development Grant, and exhibits at trade shows in the Middle East and South Pacific.
2007
- Classique is appointed as distributor for Italy’s famous brand, Matteograssi.
- Classique receives the designEX Award for “Best New Product” for Franco Poli’s LOOM chair.
2008
- Classique Outdoor completes 11 hotel projects across 4x countries.
- Classique is appointed as distributor for EGO Paris and goes on to receive the designEX Award for “Best New Product” for their TANDEM SUNLOUNGER.
2013
- Classique adds MIDJ and NotteBrava to its collections.
2015
- Classique is appointed as distributor for TOG.
